In the large families that arrive from refugee camps, the eldest child quickly becomes a sort of natural mediator between the family and the new context. The parents are often too old to learn the language and adapt to the new world, while the other children are often too young. The eldest child is the filter through which everything passes. First, there's the relationship with the person who welcomes them, in this case, Emiliano, a Caritas worker. This is the story of an unexpected escape, but also of a beautiful and difficult relationship between an intelligent young boy and a particularly empathetic worker.
